Weather forecast as we
arrived in Cardiff not good for that night(Thursday).Lovely crowd though
and then off to Maidstone for the next show. Very cold but no snow as
was predicted. An hour after the truck pulled out down it came and
Cardiff was almost impossible to get out of.We'd had to cancel Maidstone
the year before because of the snow so we were pleased to all get there
especially on the busiest Friday night of the year on the roads.-6
degrees when we left there for Bournemouth at 11.30pm Phone call at 1
30am to say the truck had broken down 20miles outside Maidstone. The load
in for the BIC was scheduled for 9am on the Saturday. The breakdown
service arrived at 3am and were unable to fix the problem so they moved
the truck to Chievley services on the M4.Tristan,our ex sound engineer
took a smaller truck from Clevedon at 7 30am and cross loaded some
equipment from TBTD's vehicle and managed to get down to the Bic at noon
despite terrible weather conditions.Ollie and Max's dad ,Ian, phoned
another driver who then left Bournemouth in his tractor unit and picked
up our trailer. He got back to the Bic at 3pm with the rest of the
gear.Everyone in the crew did an amazing job in getting the show up on
time and a wonderful evening was had by all.The BIC ,when it's rocking
is a great sight from on stage. At 1am the crew and truck left for
Plymouth. The truck arrived 10hours later! Lack of gritted roads was the
main problem. We're all here now ready for sound check at 6pm and then
we've got a day off, providing we can get back home tonight. It's only
rock&roll but we like it!
Sorry to everyone who didn't make it to the Bic. Trevor
